1890<\/strong>
La historia de Manzanos Wines es la historia de una familia, de su esfuerzo, de su constancia y de su saber hacer. Los Fern\u00e1ndez de Manzanos vienen cultivando vi\u00f1as y elaborando vinos desde hace m\u00e1s de un siglo.
Fue exactamente en 1890 cuando la primera generaci\u00f3n de esta familia funda en Azagra una peque\u00f1a bodega con capacidad de elaboraci\u00f3n de 50.000 litros de vino.<\/p>\n

1940
<\/strong>En los a\u00f1os 40 inauguran una nueva instalaci\u00f3n que ampl\u00eda su capacidad hasta los 350.000 litros, poniendo en valor la tradici\u00f3n vitivin\u00edcola de esta zona.<\/p>\n

The history of Manzanos Wines is the story of a family, their effort, their perseverance and their know-how. The Fern\u00e1ndez de Manzanos family have been cultivating vineyards and producing wines for more than a century.
It was exactly in 1890 when the first generation of the Fern\u00e1ndez de Manzanos family established a small winery in Azagra with a capacity of 50,000 litres of wine.<\/p>\n

1940
<\/strong>In the 40\u2019s they inaugurated a new facility which further increased its capacity to 350,000 litres, emphasizing the value of the viticultural tradition of this area.<\/p>\n

1950<\/strong>
Entre los 50 y 60 consolidan su proyecto bodeguero, con la creaci\u00f3n de la bodega Vi\u00f1a Marichalar, la primera adscrita a la Denominaci\u00f3n de Origen Calificada Rioja que supera los 1,5 millones de litros de capacidad.<\/p>\n

1990<\/strong>
En los a\u00f1os 90, V\u00edctor Fern\u00e1ndez de Manzanos Pastor, cuarta generaci\u00f3n, se incorpora al negocio familiar, despu\u00e9s de estudiar Ingenier\u00eda Qu\u00edmica y obtener el M\u00e1ster en Viticultura y Enolog\u00eda por la Escuela T\u00e9cnica Superior de Ingenieros Agr\u00f3nomos de la Universidad Polit\u00e9cnica de Madrid; es el primer miembro de la familia con formaci\u00f3n en viticultura y enolog\u00eda. V\u00edctor construye entonces la bodega Marqu\u00e9s de Butrago y decide llevar a cabo su proyecto de vida, la construcci\u00f3n de Bodegas Manzanos.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

1950<\/strong>
Between the 50\u2019s and 60\u2019s, they consolidated their project with the creation of the Vi\u00f1a Marichalar winery, the first one belonging to the appellation Rioja, which exceeds 1.5 million litres in capacity.<\/p>\n

1990<\/strong>
In the 90s, V\u00edctor Fern\u00e1ndez de Manzanos Pastor, the fourth generation of the family, joined the family business after studying Chemical Engineering and obtaining a Master\u2019s Degree in Viticulture and Enology by the Technical School of Agronomic Engineering from Madrid Polytechnical University. V\u00edctor was the first member of the family with training in viticulture and oenology. V\u00edctor then built the Winery Marqu\u00e9s de Butrago and decided to perform his life project, the construction of Bodegas Manzanos.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>Nowadays, the public faces of Bodegas Manzanos are those of the brothers V\u00edctor, and David Fern\u00e1ndez de Manzanos, as well as Laura Mateo, wife of the former. In 2010, these young entrepreneurs took the reins of the winery to turn Manzanos Wines into a prosperous business, modern and endowed with the latest technologies in the field. A business that has managed to preserve the old flavour of tradition and the received legacy.<\/p>\n
